Human energy metabolism and brown adipose tissue
My research focuses on human energy metabolism and human brown adipose tissue and their connection to thyroid hormones. We perform clinical trials and observational studies in humans with the aim to elucidate the physiological regulation of thermogenesis in health and disease. We use state of the art techniques such as indirect calorimetry, PET/CT imaging, functional MRI as well as metabolomics and transcriptomics.
