Research interests

My research interests are the following: Early Modern Literature and Drama, Twentieth-Century Middlebrow Fiction, Spatial Studies, Gender Studies, Ecocriticism and Ecopoetry, National Identity and Englishness, British Cinema and the Second World War, Swiss-British Relations in the 17th and 18th centuries. My first monograph was on the staging of slander and gender in early modern England, the second on middlebrow fictions and the construction of Englishness.
