Functional Shoulder Biomechanics
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the University of Basel. My research focuses on shoulder biomechanics, encompassing both kinematics and muscle activity, in healthy individuals as well as in patients with rotator cuff tears. My work aims to better understand functional adaptations and load-related changes in the shoulder, with the goal of improving clinical assessment and rehabilitation strategies. I completed my doctoral thesis, titled ‘Influence of Additional Weight Carrying on Load-Induced Changes after Rotator Cuff Tears – an In Vivo Study,’ as part of a Swiss National Science Foundation–funded project at the University of Basel.
