Research Group Busche Marc Aurel
Our research group studies how brain networks become dysregulated in ageing and neurodegenerative disorders, with a primary focus on Alzheimer’s disease, and how these changes can be detected early and targeted therapeutically. We integrate basic, translational and clinical research, using cell and animal models, human model systems, and multimodal biomarkers including blood tests, EEG/MEG, neuroimaging and digital cognitive assessments. Our aim is to identify disease mechanisms, develop robust markers for early diagnosis and progression, and translate new treatments into clinical care, with a focus on improved patient-relevant outcomes and quality of life.
