We study the heterogeneity of demand elasticities and super elasticities across households and products. We find a limited role for super elasticities driving aggregate dynamics. We find a relatively large heterogeneity of demand elasticities that are in the median around 4. We furthermore study the role of demand elasticities and preference shifts for measurement of consumer price indices. We find sizeable biases that vary with economic conditions.
