In his PhD thesis, Juraj investigates the patterns in the understandings of (im)politeness within a corpus that consists of e-mail exchanges by Slovak university students with their tutor, conducted both in English and Slovak. Juraj has been an associated researcher at the Englische Seminar at the University of Basel via SCIEX fellowship programme to enhance his expertise in linguistic research. During the entire stay at the Englische Seminar at the University of Basel, Juraj´s thesis will be supervised by Prof. Miriam Locher.
