Die Auswirkung der Konjunkturlage auf den Erwerbsverlauf von Schweizer Hochschulabsolventen/ Labour Market Success of Swiss University Graduates and the State of the Economy at Graduation This paper analyses whether the state of the economy at labour market entry has an effect on the mid-term labour market outcomes of Swiss university graduates. It contributes to the question as to whether an individual's labour market outcome is determined by luck. There is evidence for a statistically significant positive effect of favourable labour market entry conditions on wages five years after graduation. Furthermore, the probability of future unemployment is lower for those entering the labour market in its best state.
