Fields of interest
One goal of our research is to deepen our understanding of the mechanisms of action of metabolic surgery in order to optimize the surgical strategy and to understand the causes of obesity. We are also studying physiological appetite and saturation regulation, as well as central reward mechanisms and changes in obesity. We also investigate the metabolic effects of different food substrates, especially sugars and sugar substitutes.
Metabolic Surgery; obesity; enteroendocrine cells; sugar alternatives; low carb diet.
