Pedram Sendi holds an MD degree and a DMD degree from the University of Basel and a PhD in Health Economics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He has conducted a number of applied studies on the cost-effectiveness of health care interventions such as in infectious diseases, HIV infection, obesity, osteoporosis, heart disease and dentistry. He has a particular interest in methodological issues related to cost-effectiveness analysis such as handling uncertainty and the decision rules of cost-effectiveness analysis. His current research focus is on methods to include risk-aversion in analysing and presenting the results of economic evaluations in health care.
