I am a PhD candidate at the Research Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University Psychiatric Clinics in Basel, in the research group of Prof. Dr. Dr. Christina Stadler.

Before focusing on digital media research, I worked for several years in the field of adverse childhood experiences and complex trauma among formerly out-of-home placed children and adolescents. During this period, I gained valuable research experience that laid an important foundation for my academic work and continues to inform my perspective today.

My interest in digital media and early development emerged during my Master's thesis, where I examined digital media use within families, specifically the association between parental phubbing and parent-child interaction.

I am now pursuing my PhD within the SNSF-funded longitudinal SWIPE follow-up study on preschoolers’ screen exposure in Switzerland. My research focuses on how contextual and content-related aspects of children’s digital media use relate to socio-emotional, language, and motor development, going beyond traditional indicators such as screen time. The SWIPE project uses a comprehensive longitudinal multi-method design, including objective data, ecological momentary assessment and laboratory assessments, to investigate how children’s digital media use relates to their development over time.
