Our research group focuses on advancing head and neck surgery through innovative, translational, and patient-centered approaches. We work at the intersection of surgical practice, technology, and clinical research, with a particular emphasis on robotic surgery, facial reanimation, and complex reconstructive procedures. Our goal is to improve functional outcomes, aesthetic restoration, and overall quality of life for patients affected by facial paralysis, salivary gland tumors, and head and neck defects.
We conduct prospective clinical research that combines objective digital assessment tools—such as AI-based facial analysis and 3D imaging—with validated patient-reported outcome measures. These methods allow us to systematically evaluate symmetry, emotional expression, functional recovery, and patient satisfaction over time. In parallel, we collect comprehensive perioperative data and monitor complications to refine surgical techniques and enhance safety.
Translational research is a key element of our work. We bridge clinical needs with technological advancements by integrating robotics, imaging technologies, and data-driven analysis into surgical workflows. Through interdisciplinary collaboration among surgeons, engineers, and data scientists, we aim to develop more precise, minimally invasive, and personalized treatment strategies.
Collectively, our research contributes to the evolution of modern head and neck surgery by combining innovation, scientific rigor, and a strong focus on patient outcomes.
