EMINENT-ICH

Research Project  | 4 Project Members

EMINENT-ICH (Early minimally invasive image guided endoscopic evacuation of intracerebral hemorrhage) is a national multi-center, two-arm, open labelled randomized controlled trial comparing minimal invasive endoscopic evacuation and best medical treatment (blood pressure monitoring and intensive care) of spontaneous intracranial bleeding (hemorrhagic stroke). Treatment options for spontaneous intracranial bleedings are very limited and result in over half of the patients in very poor neurological outcome or death. The aim of this study is to assess in a randomized fashion whether an early (within 24 hours), complete, minimal invasive endoscopic hematoma evacuation will improve functional outcome and lower mortality rates as opposed to the current practice of best medical treatment.

Neuroscience Network Basel

Research Networks of the University of Basel  | 10 Project Members

The Neuroscience Network Basel (NNB) promotes the exchange of information between basic research, biomedical and clinical research. It organizes interdisciplinary collaborations, promotes the introduction of new treatment concepts and makes trends in brain research known.

Researchers from the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Basel as well as scientist of the University Hospital Basel, the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) and the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology (IOB) are involved in the network. Furthermore, the NNB closely collaborates with the tri-national Neuroscience Upper Rhine Network Neurex.
