Das Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) der Universität Basel ist ein interdisziplinäres Institut für Forschung und Weiterbildung spezialisiert auf den Nonprofit-Sektor. Es wurde 2008 auf Initiative von SwissFoundations, dem Verband der Schweizer Förderstiftungen, gegründet und ist ein universitärer Think Tank zum vielfältigen Themenbereich Philanthropie.

Wir wollen mit unseren Aktivitäten die wissenschaftliche Grundlage und das Wissen über Philanthropie verbessern und damit nicht zuletzt die praktische Arbeit im Bereich der Philanthropie stärken. Darüber hinaus sind wir in den Bereichen Weiterbildung und Wissenstransfer tätig.

The Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) of the University of Basel is an interdisciplinary research and executive education institute, specialized on the non-profit sector and dealing with the multifaceted topic of philanthropy. The institute was established in 2008 through an initiative by SwissFoundations, the Association of Swiss Grantmaking Foundations.

The aim of the CEPS is to improve both the scientific foundation of and the knowledge about philanthropy. Furthermore, CEPS's activities also include executive education and knowledge transfer.
