[FG] Translational Orthobiology and Biomechanical Outcome Research
Biomechanical Outcome Research
Area of Research
Investigating degeneration of muscle, tendon, bone, and cartilage due to injury, malalignment, or disuse, especially in elderly and infection-prone populations.
Tissue Engineering & Regeneration:
Developing cellular grafts and bio-stimulative therapies for cartilage and bone repair in collaboration with the University of Basel. These constructs also serve as 3D models for studying cell differentiation and tissue development.
Biomechanics & Musculoskeletal Modelling:
Using motion capture, force and neuromuscular measurements, and wearable sensors to understand joint function and disease progression, and to optimize treatment strategies.
Outcome Optimization & Predictive Modelling:
· Maintaining joint disease registries combining PROMs, CROMs, imaging, and sensor data.
· Applying AI to predict treatment outcomes and personalize rehabilitation strategies.
